Delete your account and data

You can delete your Verdant account and all its data right inside the app — no need to email anyone for permission, no review to wait for.

Exporting your data before you delete is always free — even if you’re not on a paid plan. Your data is yours. We don’t put getting it out behind a payment.

Follow these steps

1

Open your Profile

On the Home screen, tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.

2

Choose “Delete account”

It’s at the bottom of the Profile list.

3

Read the consequences screen

The app spells out what will be lost, who else is affected (by name, not just a count), and offers two ways out: transfer family ownership, or export your data to files.

4

Confirm one last time

Tap Delete account and confirm in the dialog. After this step it CANNOT be undone.

If you are the family owner — what gets deleted

  • ✕All assets, debts, transactions and goals
  • ✕Every month-end close and the whole Health score history
  • ✕Every family photo, including ones uploaded by other members
  • ✕Your sign-in account and email address

If you are the family owner: deleting your account means the remaining members also lose all the shared data. To leave while keeping the books for the rest of the family, transfer family ownership to another member first — that option sits right above the delete button in the app.

The new owner must have a sign-in account. Otherwise the family would have an owner on paper that nobody can sign in as.

Subscriptions do NOT cancel themselves. Deleting your Verdant account does not cancel a subscription on the App Store or Google Play. You have to cancel it in the store’s subscription settings, or they will keep charging you.

If you are a member, not the owner

Your sign-in account, email address and profile picture are deleted, and you no longer see the family’s books. The family’s shared data stays as it is: only your name remains in the member list as a reference profile (with the default picture), so the amounts you contributed are still credited to the right person.

What remains after deletion, and for how long

Technical backups of the database are removed on the backup cycle, no later than 30 days after you delete your account.

If you are a member (the family stays): the family’s activity log still shows your name on the times you deleted data, or invited or removed someone. Each entry is removed automatically 24 months after it was recorded. If you are the family owner, the log goes with the family and is deleted right away.

Can’t open the app?

Send a deletion request from the same email address you registered with to hotro@vernest.net. We only act on requests sent from the account’s own email — it’s the only way to be sure the person asking really owns the account.

See our Privacy Policy for what data is stored, where it is stored and for how long.
